Abstract
Ovim radom pokušava se ustanoviti je li moguće da izrada video igara za Linux ARM platformu postane validna i održiva opcija. Rad je podjeljen na dvije cjeline. Prvi dio rada vezan je uz praktični dio rada, odnosno video igru izrađenu za spomenuti platformu. Video igra istovremeno služi kao dokaz koncepta i kao testna platforma. U radu su pobrojani alati i programski paketi korišteni za izradu spomenute video igre, te je objašnjen proces kojimje igra nastala. Objašnjeni su glavni koncepti kojima seigrakoristi, kao i njeni glavni dijelovi koda. Kao testna računala korištena su mala SBC računala kao što su Raspberry Pi 3 i Odroid XU 4. Drugi dio rada analitički je orijentiran, te opisuje koja su se mjerenja i na koji način provodila. Mjerenja su provedena na precizno i konzistentno u svrhu što kvalitetnijeg rezultata. Analitičkim promišljanjem doneseni su zaključci o ideji igara na Linux ARM platformi. Rad je zaključen slobodnim razmišljanjem o stanju u kojem se nalazi Linux ARM platforma u pogledu video igara.
Abstract (english)
The purpose of this paper is to assess the question of Linux ARM game development becoming viable.The paper consists of two main parts. Practical part of presented work is av ideo game built with support for Linux ARM in mind, which serves as a proof of concept, as well as a testing platform. Inside this paper you will find a list of tools, as well as API’s used to create said video game. Also included is the description of the process itself. Key concepts of a said video game are explained in detail, as well as key parts of the source code. ARM SBC’s such as Raspberry Pi 3, and Odroid XU 4 are used for testing purposes. Latter part of the paper is oriented towards performance measuring of created video game. Measurements performed are described in detail. To ensure the best possible result, measurements are performed with precision and consistency in mind. The paper is concluded with analysis of the current Linux ARM video game state.
