Abstract
Pojavom najpopularnije teme IT današnjice prepoznate su prednosti virtualizacije u radu tvrtke. Tehnologija koja je korištena u konsolidaciji je Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2. Ovaj završni rad prikazuje izvršenu konsolidaciju fizičkih servera u virtualne, koji su problemi proizašli prilikom migracije, zašto neki poslužitelji namjerno nisu virtualizirani, koje su prednosti ovakvog sustava kao i njegove mane. Rad prikazuje staru i novu infrastrukturu te opisuje same poslužitelje, a takoñer i buduće planove za virtualizaciju klijentskih računala, pripreme i testiranje. Ovaj rad teži u cijelosti prikazati proces migracije, zajedno sa svim stvarnim problemima koji su se pritom pojavili.
Abstract (english)
With the advent of the most popular topic in IT today, the advantages that virtualization brings were recognized in the company. The technology that had been used in the process of consolidation was Microsoft Hyper-V. This final report shows the process of consolidation of physical servers into virtual ones, the problems encountered during the migration, why certain servers were intentionally not virtualized, and what are the advantages of this type of system as well as its faults. This paper displays the old and the new infrastructure, and describes the servers themselves, future plans for desktop virtualization, preparation procedures and testing. This paper aspires at representing the process of migration in its entirety, along with all of the actual problems that occurred.
