Abstract
U ovom radu bavimo se konceptima i mogućnostima dvaju raširenih kriptografskih algoritma. Cilj rada je upoznati čitatelja s prednostima, ali i nedostatcima korištenja RC4 i AES kriptografskih algoritama te usporedba performansi i implementacija navedenih algoritama s različitim veličinama ključeva te mogućnosti provjere korištenja pogrešnog dekripcijskog ključa. RC4 kao najkorišteniji simetrični kriptografski algoritam toka izabran je radi svoje raširenosti i jednostavnosti implementacije te razloga zašto njegovo korištenje može biti sigurnosni rizik. AES kao najkorišteniji simetrični kriptografski algoritam blok šifri je izabran radi svoje prihvaćenosti kao algoritam kojim američka vlada zaštićuje svoje tajne informacije. Imajući to na umu, u ovom radu ćemo strukturno predstaviti RC4 i AES algoritam, od implementacije algoritama i provjere korištenja pogrešnog dekripcijskog ključa, načina korištenja, te njihove sigurnosne rizike i usporedbe performansi implementacija u JavaFX platformi.
Abstract (english)
In this thesis we will discuss the concepts and features of two commonly used cryptographic algorithms. The aim is to familiarize the reader with the advantages and disadvantages of using RC4 and AES cryptographic algorithms, along with comparing the performance and implementations of those algorithms and the possibility of checking the use of a wrong decryption key. RC4 as the most used symmetric stream algorithm is chosen for its popularity and implementation simplicity, and the reason why its use could be a security risk. AES as the most widely used symmetric block algorithm is chosen because of its acceptance by the American government to protect its classified information. Bearing this in mind, we will present the RC4 and AES algorithms, starting with their implementations and verification of wrong decryption key usage, how they are used, their security risks and their performance comparison of the implementation on the JavaFX platform.
