Abstract
Rad opisuje RFID (Identifikacija putem radijske frekvancije; engl. Radio-frequency identification) tehnologiju, njeno nastajanje, razvoj i karakteristike. Obrađuje tag i čitač kao osnovne komponente svakog RFID sistema, različite načine dijeljenja tagova u kategorije (pasivni, djelomično aktivni i aktivni). Središnji dio rada opisuje primjenu RFID tehnologije, sličnosti raznih RFID sistema, njihove zajedničke funkcije i konceptualne pretpostavke. Nadalje, rad se bavi pitanjima zašto su funkcionalni i ne funkcionalni zahtjevi bitni i jednaki kod svakog RFID sistema te kako u primjeni izgledaju komponente (tag, čitač) odnosno kako se sve zajedno objedinjuje u RFID sistem. Rad se dotiče prednosti i nedostataka RFID sistema, klasičnih pogrešaka i kompleksnosti dizajna RFID sistema te standarda i budućnosti same tehnologije. Završni dio rada je promišljanje o budućnosti RFID tehnologije.
Abstract (english)
This paper describes RFID (Radio-frequency identification) technology, its development so far together with its purpose, usage and appliance across industries. Covering main components (tag and reader of an RFID system) and different ways of categorizing RFID tags (passive, semi-active and active tags) paper introduce technical aspects of usage. Central part of this document is related to explanations regarding how RFID technology is used today, what are the similarities with other technologies and what are its common functions and concepts. Furthermore, important functional and non-functional requirements of RFID systems are explained. As separate part, paper covers pros and cons of an RFID system, classical errors and complexities that arise in designing an RFID system, standards development and and future to be expected from this technology.
